Design: Nanopore directly cDNA sequencing
Submitted by: Kansas State University
Study: Zea mays isolate:Zm00056a Genome sequencing and assembly
show Abstracthide Abstract
Maize inbred line A188, developed in Minnesota in the US, possesses distinct origins from most inbred lines used in hybrid production in the US corn belt. A188 is amenable for somatic embryogenic culture and regeneration as well as exhibits many contrasting traits as compared with other elite maize inbred lines. A188, therefore, is a model inbred line for the genetic dissection of regeneration and many important agronomic traits. This study generated a high-quality genome assembly of A188 through using Oxford Nanopore long reads, Illumina data, and BioNano optical physical maps.
